Recreated Historical Accounts

Rebecca’s Story – Bull Ring Gallery, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery

The Bull Ring Gallery is a window into the history of Birmingham, its people and their everyday stories. The stories are centred on the Bull Ring market square, now famous for its architectural shopping centre and include memories of people who shopped and worked here in recent decades as well as re-created historical accounts of market traders from other centuries. This mixture of audio commentary and visual displays helps explain how important markets have been in Birmingham’s transformation from a medieval market town to the commercial centre of the Midlands it is today.
